The Jewish Ghetto of Terezin
Founded as a garrison town in the late 18th century, Terezin is about an hour drive from the capital of the Czech Republic, Prague. During the 2nd world war, it was used as a ghetto for the Jewish population before they were sent to concentration camp throughout Europe. Set up as a "model of the Jewish settlement", it served as a propaganda facade hiding the hideous crime of the Nazi regime.
Today, it is a quiet town hidden away from the hustle & bustle of the city.
